6. How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide you with the products and information you have requested, to maintain customer and supplier records, to comply with our legal, tax, accounting, export control, warranty, and product liability obligations, and to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

In general, we retain customer and order records for the longer of (a) the period required by applicable tax, customs, and export control laws, and (b) seven (7) years from the end of the customer relationship or last transaction. Application analysis records and technical correspondence are typically retained for the life of the related product line plus a reasonable period to support warranty and reliability analysis. Marketing list information is retained until you opt out or until the contact information is no longer current. Information related to job applicants is retained as permitted by applicable law.

7. How We Protect Your Information

AIT maintains administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These safeguards include role based access controls, encryption in transit for data submitted through the Sites, segregation of payment processing to PCI DSS compliant providers, secure backups, and employee confidentiality obligations. AIT operates an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system that includes controls relevant to records management and information handling.

No method of transmission over the Internet and no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. You are responsible for keeping any account credentials confidential and for notifying us promptly of any suspected unauthorized use of your account.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights with respect to your personal information. We honor the rights described below regardless of where you live, except where prohibited by applicable law.

8.1 General Rights

  • Access. You may ask us to confirm whether we process your personal information and to provide you with a copy.
  • Correction. You may ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion. You may ask us to delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions such as records we are required to keep for tax or export control purposes.
  • Opt out of marketing. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us.

8.2 Additional Rights for California Residents

California residents have the rights described above and the following additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act:

  • The right to know the categories of personal information we collect, the sources, the business or commercial purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
  • The right to request that we not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross context behavioral advertising. AIT does not sell personal information for monetary consideration. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16. To the extent any cookies or analytics on our Sites constitute a sale or sharing under California law, you can exercise your opt out by following the instructions in Section 9 or by contacting us.
  • The right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. As noted above, we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information through the Sites.
  • The right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization. We will verify your identity before fulfilling a request, typically by matching information you provide with information we already have, such as your business email address and order history.

8.3 How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 13. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not charge you a fee unless your request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

9. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our Sites use cookies and similar technologies to operate, secure, and improve the Sites and to understand how visitors use them. Cookies are small text files placed on your device. We use the following categories:

  • Strictly necessary cookies. Required for core functions such as session management, shopping cart persistence, load balancing, and security. These cannot be disabled through our interface, but you can block them in your browser. Doing so may break parts of the Sites.

Many browsers support “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is no industry standard interpretation, our Sites do not currently respond to these signals. We treat Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt out of sale or sharing for California residents to the extent applicable.

10. Third Party Sites and Plug-Ins

Our Sites may contain links to third party websites and plug ins, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter / X, and YouTube. These third parties may collect information about you if you interact with their content, even if you do not click on their plug in.
